Find what's wrong, then follow the steps.
You’ll seeSign in to Game Center in Settings to play online.
Online appears in Game mode only while you're signed in to Game Center; check your settings.
In the Settings app, sign in to Game Center with your Apple Account.
Return to Pounce and open Game. Online appears beside vs AI and Pass & Play.
You’ll seeWaiting for a player
No one else is looking for a match yet: wait for a challenger, or invite a friend.
Wait for someone to join. The match stays in Your matches, and their name replaces Waiting for a player.
To play a friend instead, tap Invite a friend and choose them in Game Center.
You’ll seeCannot reach Game Center. Check your connection and try again.
You’ll seeMatchmaking Failed
Online play needs a connection to Game Center; reconnect and try again. Pounce takes back any move that didn't send.
Check that Wi-Fi or mobile data is working.
Repeat your move, or tap Play someone new again.
You’ll seeThis match was saved by a newer version of Pounce. Update the app to keep playing.
A newer version of Pounce saved this match, so this copy can't read it.
Update Pounce from the App Store.
Open the match again from Your matches.
You’ll seeResign This Match? It counts as a loss.
Resigning ends the match as a loss. To step away without resigning, tap the round Matches button; the match waits in Your matches.
In the match, open Game and tap Resign this match. Or swipe left on it in Your matches and tap Resign.
Tap Resign to confirm. To clear a finished match, swipe left on it and tap Remove.
Changing a rule (board size, blocked tiles, pounces per player, or AI difficulty) starts a new game; finish first, or switch modes to set it aside.
Finish the game you're in before changing a rule.
To set a game aside, switch Game mode; switching back picks it up.
Pounces per player is hidden against the AI, where each side gets 2; switch to Pass & Play or Online to set it.
In Game → Game mode, choose Pass & Play or Online. Pounces per player appears under Board Configuration.
Choose 1, 2, or 3. During an online match, the change applies to your next match.
Pounce is silent when Sound is off or your device is on silent; check both.
In Look & Feel, check that Sound is on.
Take your device off silent and turn the volume up.
