HopStop Help
The Map
The map
Each event shows up as a numbered pin on the map, color-coded to match the calendar it came from. Pins are ordered chronologically — the first stop of the day is pin 1. Ad-hoc stops you add yourself render as octagon pins so they stand out from calendar events.
Your location
Turn on Show My Location in Settings to see a blue dot for where you are right now. When it's on, a drive-time row at the top of the route shows how long it will take to reach your first stop from your current position. The dot updates as you move.
Map controls
Tap the HopStop logo in the top bar to zoom the map back to fit your full route. A plus button on the map lets you drop in a new stop without opening the event list; a location button re-centers on your position when Show My Location is on. Tap any pin to see the stop's name and time.
Planning
Edit your route
Pull the event sheet up to see the full list, then drag the handles on any row to reorder stops. Tap the exclusion toggle on a row to hide that event from the map and route — excluded events don't contribute to drive times or the summary. Your custom order is remembered across launches until you revert it.
Add stops
Tap Add Stop above the event list to insert a place that isn't in your calendar — a supply run, a lunch, a fuel stop. You can also drop one from the map using the plus button. Ad-hoc stops render as octagon pins and can be reordered, excluded, or removed like any other.
Missing address
If an event arrives without a location, its card shows an amber Add Address button. Tap it to search for the right place and pin it to that event only — your calendar isn't modified. The override applies to this single occurrence, so a recurring event can point to different places on different days.
Change Date Pro
Tap the date in the top header to open a calendar picker and jump to any past or future day. Everything you can do for today — map, list, drive times, share, Log Trip — works the same on other dates. Available with Pro.
Calendars & Accounts
Calendars
HopStop pulls events from your connected calendars. Open Settings to choose which calendars show up on the map — the route rebuilds when you change the selection. Calendar color flows through to pin and card color so you can see at a glance which event belongs to which calendar.
Apple Calendar
Tap Enable Apple Calendar in Settings to read events from the iOS Calendar app. Grant full access once and HopStop reads locally, including subscribed calendars. Edits you make in the Apple Calendar app appear on the next refresh.
Multi-account sign-in Pro
Tap Add Google Account in Settings to connect more than one Google calendar — useful if your work and personal calendars live on different accounts. Events from every connected account show on the same day. If one account's sign-in expires, its row shows a Reconnect button so the others keep working. Available with Pro.
Route Details & Sharing
Drive times
Drive-time badges between rows show how long it takes to travel from one stop to the next. When Show My Location is on, a row at the top also shows the drive time from where you are to the first stop. Times refresh automatically when you reorder, exclude, or add stops.
Route summary Pro
The footer below the route shows total miles and total drive time for the day. When you're done, Log Trip saves the day's route to your Mileage Log in one tap. Available with Pro.
Navigation
Tap Go on any stop to launch turn-by-turn directions. Choose between Apple Maps and Google Maps in Settings — your choice applies to every Go button throughout the app.
Share route
Tap the share button in the event list to send your day via iMessage, email, or any share target. The shared text lists each stop with its time, address, and a Maps link the recipient can tap to open directions.
Saved Routes Pro
Save the current day as a named route — your stop order, exclusions, and ad-hoc stops all persist. From Saved Routes, apply a saved route to any future day with one tap. Useful for weekly rounds, recurring service days, and templates. Available with Pro.
Departure alerts
Turn on Departure Alerts in Settings to get notified when it's time to leave for your next stop. The alert uses current drive time and your chosen lead time — five, ten, fifteen, twenty, or thirty minutes. If live drive time isn't available, a conservative thirty-minute estimate is used instead.
Additional Features
Mileage Log Pro
The Mileage Log tracks business miles from each day's route. Categorize trips — client, personal, one-off — and export the log as CSV when you need it for taxes or reimbursement. Open it from Settings. Available with Pro.
Home screen widget Pro
Add the HopStop widget to your home screen to see your next stop at a glance. Small and medium sizes are supported, and the widget refreshes as the day progresses. Available with Pro.
Pro Features
What you get with Pro
Pro unlocks Saved Routes, Change Date, multiple calendar accounts, the daily route summary with Log Trip, the Mileage Log, and the home screen widget. It's a one-time $14.99 purchase — no subscription. Users who bought HopStop V1 are grandfathered automatically, and Restore Purchases in Settings brings Pro back on a new device.
